For Those Who Might Ask About the UW Shop

Over the last couple of days I have been getting a heap of messages and emails asking me when I am opening my shop. This is definitely a jump in number, as I will get the odd one every once in a while. So thank you to whoever recommended me, that is very kind!

With that said, the shop has been closed down for about a year or so and I have been only doing a few orders here and there, replenishing supplies of old customers and doing some wholesale orders. As of right now, I am still not really ready to open up the shop due to lack of time and restricted access to some ingredients that are a necessity to what I make.

One of the most requested products lately has been my Mistress of Stags incense and one of the ingredients {sweetfern} I am running low on again. I do have a friend up north who harvests some for me, but I will not be able to get a decent amount until I go back and visit my old patch up there. I hope to do that some time this summer.

At this point I can't say for sure when my shop will open again, but if you are interested in something, just drop me a line and we can chat. And as before, I am always down for swaps in lieu of traditional payment. :)

Lovely Paintings & a Darling Poppet

Two of my lovely friends that I do swaps and make purchases from recently sent me some pretties that I wanted to share to let other folks know about their shops.

I did a swap a while back with Hawthorn and one of the things ey sent me was this lovely foxglove painting.

still needs to be framed but has a home in my herby room

I love it so much that I asked em to make me two more custom paintings:

opium painting that is a housewarming gift for a friend

rowan painting for my herby room

Hawthorn also sent me some eir healing salve which is used regularly and has kept nicely in the fridge, and black salt that I gave to a friend who has since purchased more because she loved it so much. Check out eir shop here where you can find folk magic staples such as spell candles, incense, and divination supplies like handmade rune sets.

Trace is a fellow magical practitioner and crafter from here in Northern Ontario and recently opened an Etsy shop, along with the equally talented Smoeii.  When I Trace's poppets my heart just melted because I think that they are so adorable. In our last swap she made me a custom one pictured below.

She also sent along some spell tea lights, bonfire wish charms, and ethically harvested rowan wood for my quickly dwindling supply.

whole poppet kit, tea lights and bonfire wish charms

In their shop you will find folk magic supplies that have her own spin on them as well as divination tools such as scrying mirrors.

There are other wonderful crafters that I want to post about in the future, so stay tuned. :)

A Policy Update

Unfortunately one of my customers has notified me that their purchase was seized by customs in their country. Due to this, I have updated the policy of the UW Etsy shop.

Many of the items that I have for sale are plant-based, and many places have restrictions on what they will allow shipped in to their jurisdictions. It is up to customers to know the laws and regulations for what is restricted or banned in their areas. This means that I will not be offering refunds for items seized by customs.

Many governments have clearly defined lists of what is banned or restricted in their areas. Products that I carry that might be of risk include seeds, incense, and other plant-based products.

Thanks for reading and to my past, current and future customers!

Some Updates

One of the types of seeds that will be in store, teasel.

This post is just to just touch on a couple of things and pass on some updates.

First of all, after my last post sharing some of my mushroom harvest, some people have contacted me asking if I will be making flying ointments for sale. I will not be selling any, so if you are on the look out for some quality wares in that department, I suggest checking out the shop of Sarah Lawless {previously known as the Witch of Forest Grove} or Alchemy Works.

I have been crafting new items for the UW Etsy shop and will have more seed varieties available soon.

Also stay tuned for a Samhain giveaway which I will posting about in the upcoming days!

Some Changes & Other Announcements

Dear Clients & Customers,

There are a few changes in the way that I will providing services and to my availability. The details are outlined below.

Availability

Starting May 27th until the end of November 2013 I will be taking a course which will make my availability over the next few months rather limited. The following changes will be effective for this time period:
  • Etsy orders will now be shipped on Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • In-person readings, blessings, consultations and events will be available on weekends {there may be some weeknights that I am available}
  • The carrying out of spellwork and custom orders will remain unchanged.

Changes to Services

A permanent change to that I have decided to make to my services is payment structure. Instead of profiting personally, I would like the proceeds of the services that I provide to be donated to what I feel are deserving organizations and causes.

I will still be charging for any material or travel expenses {as always, I am very open to barter and trade!}, and beyond that fees will be sliding scale. I will have recommended donation price points listed on the website soon, along with more details as I work out the logistics of these changes.

Currently I am looking for a way for clients to be able to donate directly to the organizations and I am in the process of building donation partnerships with organizations so that the whole process is transparent and "above board".

To find out more details over on the Pricing Information page and if you happen to be a member of an organization that would be interested in a donation partnership, please do feel free to contact me.

As one could probably expect things will be slower on this blog over the next couple of months, but I will post when I get the chance.

Herbal Beeswax Votive Candles

These lovely votive candles are made with local beeswax and I have added premium essential oils and herbs and flowers from my garden. Feminine Herbal Beeswax Fertility Charm

{photo of example}

A pretty charm made with a vulva-shaped milkweed pod, beeswax, rose pedals, a seashell and herbs associated with abundance and fertility. It could be buried in the garden for a Bealtaine ritual, used in fertility workings or put on a shrine for Goddesses associated with fertility and women's sexuality and health. The winner will receive one charm{$5.00 CDN/US value}.

Masculine Herbal Beeswax Fertility Charm

This fellow was handcrafted with beeswax and herbs associated with fertility and male virility. I will let you all use your imagination of what types of workings it could be helpful with or what deities might appreciate it. ;) It has a soft green coloured leather thong should you wish to hang it. The winner will receive one charm{$3.50 CDN/US value}.

Vintage Avon Jar Filled with Natural Pretties

A gaggle of little pretties that I found in nature in a vintage Avon jar {Crystal Facets Field Flowers Cologne}. In the jar is a dried rose, wee pine cones, a milkweed pod, seashell, sea glass, moss, and a small piece of turkey tail fungus.{$10.00 CDN/US value}.

Resin Veggies

For the winner's craft supply collection, I thought that these quality resin veggies would be great for making garden markers, or could be used for crafty projects such as fridge magnets {$2.50 CDN/US value}.

Vintage Ribbons & Fabric Strips

I included these strips of summery vintage cloth and ribbons of various colours because I think they would be great to create a May bush or garland, or perhaps for a mini Maypole {$2.00 CDN/US value}.
