Things have been so busy around here with renos happening to our home, including water-proofing our foundation and fixing our drainage, which resulted two of our garden beds needing to be dug up. Now that part of the renos have been finished I have been scrambling to get our gardens caught up.
Here are a few photos that have been taken over the last month or so.

I wish my lilac was like that, she's only young at the moment so she only flowers slightly. I can't wait for the day she fills the yard with her scented purple splendour. Those bracken fern are curious, I may have to see if I can get them out here.
ReplyDeleteLilac shrubs can take a while to mature, but it is worth the wait. :) This one is actually my neighbours, but it hangs over the fence by our deck, so we get to enjoy it as well. The smell is almost intoxicating, especially on warm evenings.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the fiddlehead photos again, they are actually baby sensitive ferns {Onoclea sensibilis}, which are just as nifty as our bracken ferns {Pteridium aquilinum}.
